There are so many facets to dentistry. At Dr. Faktor’s we take that understanding and expand on services offered at our office. We appreciate our patients needs for more comprehensive care and their desire to not have to leave our office for outside treatment. We strongly encourage regular checkups with their general physicians so we can stay current on their medical needs. In addition to general care, we offer pain management services. Did you know that when a patients bite is mal aligned it can mimic tooth pain. Dr. Faktor has solved persistent pain problems by re-calibrating our patients bite. It is our goal to offer a comfortable environment where our patients feel at home and trust that all of their needs will be met and when they talk about their dental experiences with their friends and family it will only have been a satisfying one.
Dr. Faktor recommends to his patients that are in good health standards to come in for dental cleanings and checkups twice a year. When it comes to patients with specific needs such as those who build up plaque or have periodontal demands then three or four times a year is recommended. Pregnant moms have a higher disposition for gingivitis and should be seen for cleanings each trimester.
At Dr. Faktor’s office we offer both Zoom whitening and custom trays. It is our belief that teeth whitening can be a fun alternative to something a bit more permanent. Teeth whitening is a great option
when you have a important event such as a wedding or if you just want to have a brighter smile. It does take maintenance so be aware that it is only a temporary means to enhancing the appearance of your smile and is not permanent. Each patient has a different whitening potential, so please come in to speak to Dr. Faktor to see what your potential is.
The zoom whitening system is a great alternative to custom trays since it is a one office visit procedure. Our patients teeth are isolated and several whitening applications are applied under a powerful LED light. This offers an instant whitening experience. It is then recommended to have custom trays made to maintain or even increase the level of white and bright.
Dental implants are considered todays standard of care for replacing missing teeth. The dental implant itself takes on the role as the root of the tooth and offers structural support for the crown. In the majority of cases the dental implant is made of titanium. The dental implant is surgically placed into the patients jawbone in the area of where the previous tooth was lost. It then undergoes a process called osseo-integration where the patients bone fuses to the titanium surface. This process offers stability to support a crown. After the implant fusion has finished, the restorative dentist designs a custom abutment. The abutment is a connection that is screwed into the implant and provides an interface or extension from the implant to the crown. The implant abutment allows the crown to emerge from the gum in the most natural way. The crown is then either cemented or screwed directly into the implant.
The implant process on average takes approximately 4 months from start to finish. The variation in time depends on the patient’s quality and quantity of the bone in the intended implant site. Patients that do not have enough bone to support an implant may require a bone grafting procedure. This may extend the treatment time. Please contact dr. faktor to discuss options.
When you decide to have a smile makeover, you are making a decision to change your life. You are making an investment into your future and are certainly making a statement that you value your smile. The one common element that our patients speak of after their smile makeover is how good they feel about themselves so be prepared to keep looking at yourself in the mirror. There is certainly no better feeling than receiving a constant stream of compliments from strangers, friends and family. You will also probably hear people say how natural looking your teeth are. Simply put a smile makeover is a transformation of your teeth using artistically designed ceramics. Color correction, straightening of teeth are just a few of the many components that go into the design.
Once Dr. Faktor has come up with a new smile design, his patient is set up for a visit to have their teeth transformed. Our patients teeth are shaped and contoured to the right proportions to accommodate a porcelain veneer or ceramic crown. The shaping process will correct for a once bulky tooth or one that is crooked and needs to be straightened. This process has one common theme and that is to allow for the minimal amount of alteration to our patients teeth in order to give them their best smile. In some cases Dr. Faktor has been able to apply porcelain veneers to patients without having to shape their original teeth. This however is for patients that have very small teeth and a lot of spaces. Please contact dr. faktor to determine what is the best method of treatment for you. If your interested in knowing that differences can be made please set up a consultation.
In most cases believe it or not a smile makeover can be done in two visits. Of course there may be an follow up visit for an adjustment but the process be done very quickly and in time for a special moment.
Highly unlikely if you are going for the more natural look. However if you are looking to make a statement then buyer beware. You are going to be getting a lot of attention. “Don’t be Jealous”.
